Antonio Conte apologised for his gesture towards Andre Agnelli but has not forgotten what provoked him to do so, Italian media claim.

According to todays print edition of the Corriere della Sera, Antonio Conte made a point of giving his reason for doing what he did while apologising for doing so.

Conte apologised yesterday in his official pre match press conference for his actions on Tuesday evening in the Allianz Stadium.

During Juventus vs Inter in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi final, Conte was the subject of insults and taunting from his former employer Andrea Agnelli from the stands.

Conte reacted to the provocation by gesturing his middle finger to his former boss as Inter were eliminated from the Coppa Italia.

Antonio Conte issued what seemed a genuine apology for his part in the situation on Tuesday during his press conference whilst also pointing out Agnelli’s role which caused him to react the way he did.
