Spezia midfielder has told of his long time Nerazzurri allegiance after scoring against AC Milan last night to give Inter a huge opportunity tonight.
Speaking to Italian media broadcaster Sky Sport, Maggiore told of his long term Inter supporting childhood as he helped Spezia defeat AC Milan last night to allow Inter the chance to take top spot this evening.
“I have been an Inter fan since I was a child and, without thinking about it, I showed up at to training in the dressing room with an Inter bathrobe.
“They jokingly told me to leave” explained Maggiore on his trial as a youngster at Inter’s cross town rivals AC Milan.
Maggiore scored for Spezia last night as they defeated AC Milan 2-0, a huge shock result that could leave a lasting effect on this seasons title race.
Inter host Lazio this evening with the chance to go top of the league if the Nerazzurri can defeat Simone Inzaghi’s side.
Lazio arrive at the San Siro in great league form so a victory for Inter will be no easy task however the motivation for Conte’s men could not be more present after last nights shock result.
