Christian Eriksen’s performance in last night’s Serie A win over Lazio has been described as ‘sumptuous’ by one Italian media outlet today.

The Danish national team attacking midfielder started at San Siro in place of the injured Arturo Vidal and played with personality and showed his quality, according to Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, especially in the first half.

The newly turned 29-year-old has been rated 7/10 in their player ratings for the match, with only three players receiving higher ratings than him.

The only players who ranked higher than Eriksen for last night’s game were Marcelo Brozovic and Lautaro Martinez, who were both rated 7.5/10, and Romelu Lukaku, who was rated 8.5/10 after scoring two goals and providing the assist for Lautaro.

Brozovic was described as having played a ‘total’ match by the Rome-based publication, while El Toro ‘showed clear signs of revival’ after a recent run of questionable form.

In addition to Eriksen, Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni all received 7/10 ratings whilst Samir Handanovic and Ivan Perisic both got 6.5/10.

The worst performing players on the day for Inter were right wing-back Achraf Hakimi and Roberto Gagliardini, with both the Moroccan and Italian being rated 6/10.
