Inter showed all the hunger and desire Antonio Conte wants from his teams during last night’s 3-1 win over Lazio, a report in the Italian media argued today.

The Nerazzurri have moved top of the Serie A table for the first time this season following two goals from Romelu Lukaku and one from Lautaro Martinez.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte clearly studied Lazio well and set up in such a manner that meant Simone Inzaghi’s side were not allowed space out wide or in behind Inter’s defence.

“Inter were the mirror image of his will to win, the players have learned Conte’s vocabulary off by heart,” the Milanese publication wrote.

Inter’s best performing player on the night was said to be Lukaku, who received a rating of 8/10 for his match-winning display at San Siro.

“What can we even say? His poor period is behind him, he’s joined Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of the Serie A goal-scoring charts and he was decisive in a big game,” the report read.

“Inter’s next task: protect Lukaku from Manchester City’s advances, because Sunday’s match showed that putting your faith in Big Rom is always the best choice.”

Milan Skriniar, Marcelo Brozovic and Lautaro Martinez all received ratings of 7/10 for their performances, with Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij, Ivan Perisic and Christian Eriksen all getting 6.5/10.

Samir Handanovic, Roberto Gagliardini and Alexis Sanchez were all rated 6/10 while the worst performer at San Siro for Inter was right wing-back Achraf Hakimi, who was rated just 5.5/10.
