Inter have the same number of points in Serie A now as they did during their treble-winning campaign, as pointed out by an Italian broadcaster tonight.

Sky Sport Italia highlighted that after 22 games played this season, Antonio Conte’s side have 50 points to their name, exactly the same amount that Jose Mourinho’s team had during the 2009-10 season.

Inter only have a one-point lead over second placed AC Milan at the moment, whereas Mourinho’s Inter had a six-point cushion over their nearest challengers, which again was the Rossoneri.

Conte’s Inter have outscored Mourinho’s Inter by 54 goals to 46, though, while also conceding four more goals with 24 to Mourinho’s 20.

Inter’s highest-scoring player so far this season is Romelu Lukaku with 16 goals, which is three more than Diego Milito had at this stage of that historic season.

Inter’s second-highest scorer, Lautaro Martinez, has 11, which is three more than Samuel Eto’o had managed.

It now remains to be seen whether Inter can join Mourinho’s 2009-10 side in winning the Scudetto, but the numbers are certainly looking encouraging.

The Nerazzurri finally went top of the league for the first time last night after defeating Lazio 3-1 at San Siro.
