Inter’s win over Lazio at home at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, was the Nerazzurri’s second consecutive home win in the Serie A against the Biancocelesti.
This is a feat the Nerazzurri haven’t been able to do for more than 9 years according to football stat outlet Opta who posted on their Twitter account:
“Inter have won two consecutive home matches in Serie A against Lazio for the first time since January 2012 (7). Double.”
Inter defeated Lazio 3-1 last night at the San Siro in a game which saw Inter climb to the top of the table.
A brace from Romelu Lukaku and a goal from Latauro Martinez saw Inter reach the top of the table for the first time this season.
Inter face rivals AC Milan next weekend in a potential title deciding match as Inter look to extend their lead at the top.
