Inter remain hopeful Arturo Vidal will recover from his knee injury in time to face AC Milan on Sunday, according to an Italian media report.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Chilean trained separately to his Nerazzurri teammates yesterday, to try and recover from the knock sustained against Fiorentina on February 5, and will again do so today.

Antonio Conte is cautiously optimistic Vidal will be available to take on the Rossoneri this weekend in arguably Inter’s biggest game of the season.

The report from the Milan-based publication went on to add that Vidal would be training alone at Appiano Gentile today, after Conte gave the rest of the team a day off following their recovery session yesterday.

Christian Eriksen replaced Vidal for Sunday’s 3-1 win over Lazio but it remains to be seen who would take the former Barcelona midfielder’s place against AC Milan.

Vidal has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored two goals and provided two assists.
