Federico Dimarco will return to Inter in the summer from Hellas Verona, according to an Italian newspaper report today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, the Nerazzurri have an option to re-sign their academy full-back for €6 million at the end of this season and intend to use it.

With Ashley Young’s contract due to expire at the end of this season, Dimarco will be able to slot right in on the left hand side at left wing-back for Antonio Conte.

Inter will also be able to benefit from the fact that Dimarco is a product of the club’s youth academy, which means he will help them towards meeting squad requirements for UEFA competitions as a homegrown player.

Dimarco has impressed while out on loan at Ivan Juric’s Hellas Verona this term, having scored a number of wondergoals.

In 23 appearances this season, the 23-year-old has scored three times and provided five assists for his teammates.

He starred in the Gialloblu’s 2-1 win over Parma on Monday, causing an own goal and then setting up Antonin Barak for the winner.
