Christian Eriksen’s world has been turned on its head since scoring Inter’s winner in last month’s Milan derby, an Italian broadcaster has argued today.

As per Sport Mediaset, Eriksen has gone from being a player who would only come on as a substitute and infuriate Antonio Conte to being like a brand new signing.

The 29-year-old now understands Italian and is finally integrated into the Nerazzurri’s midfield, dictating play while also doing his best to win the ball back.

Conte is firmly convinced, the report said, to start Eriksen again in an unchanged starting XI for Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.

Eriksen will start ahead of Arturo Vidal at San Siro, with the Chilean international still training apart from his teammates as he recovers from a knee injury.

In order to complete his resurrection and make Inter’s midfield his own, SM argued, the former Tottenham Hotspur player must now lead Conte’s side to victory in their most important derby match for 10 years.

Inter are sitting top of the Serie A table heading into Sunday’s clash with their city rivals and would move four points clear of Stefano Pioli’s side if they win.
