Arturo Vidal will resume first-team training with Inter tomorrow as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury, according to an Italian newspaper report today.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Chilean’s condition is clearly improving and he has increased his workload while training on his own, but he has not completely overcome the injury picked up in the 2-0 win over Fiorentina a fortnight ago.
Vidal is still not guaranteed to be fit to feature in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.
Even if Vidal does make it into the squad, he will not necessarily start, with Christian Eriksen the current favourite to complete Antonio Conte’s midfield three.
Eriksen is enjoying arguably his best period of form since joining Inter in January 2020 and could be rewarded with another start against the Rossoneri.
Inter want to open up a four-point gap over their city rivals with victory at San Siro this weekend.
