Inter will play a training match against Serie D side Vis Nova Giussano today as they step up preparations for Sunday’s Milan derby, according to an Italian media report today.

As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, particular attention will be paid to Matias Vecino and Arturo Vidal, if he plays, with both players working back to full fitness following injuries.

Vidal does not want to miss this weekend’s clash with AC Milan, which could have huge implications on the race for the Serie A title.

The Rome-based publication said it was difficult to imagine the Chilean starting against the Rossoneri, however, with Christian Eriksen still considered favourite to complete Antonio Conte’s midfield three.

Eriksen impressed in the ‘mezzala’ position against Lazio last weekend and is expected to retain his spot in Conte’s XI.

Vidal is working to shake off a knee injury he sustained during Inter’s 2-0 win at Fiorentina on February 5.
