Inter loanee Valentino Lazaro does not know where his future lies beyond this summer, according to a German media report today.
Lazaro joined Borussia Monchengladbach on a season-long loan with an option to buy last summer, but as per Rheinische Post he has not discussed the possibility of making the move permanent with club officials.
The Bundesliga side would have to pay €13.8 million to Inter in order to sign him outright, but the report warned that head coach Marco Rose’s confirmed departure for Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season could influence Lazaro’s plans.
The 24-year-old, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, has made 13 appearances across all competitions for Gladbach this season, with his time on the pitch having been limited due to injury.
Lazaro has scored one goal and also provided one assist and featured against Antonio Conte’s side during the UEFA Champions League group stage, when Inter and Gladbach were drawn together.
It remains to be seen whether Conte would have any ambition of reintegrating him into the Nerazzurri’s squad should the Austria international return this summer.
