Stefano Sensi will not be part of Inter’s squad for Sunday’s Milan derby with AC Milan, according to an Italian media report.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition, the Nerazzurri midfielder will be left out of Antonio Conte’s match-day squad due to a muscle problem he picked up in yesterday’s training game with Vis Nova Giussano.

It is the latest in a long line of injury woes Sensi has suffered during his time at Inter, having missed huge chunks of playing time since his move from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019.

Luca Taidelli described the 25-year-old’s ongoing issues in his report as ‘a frankly embarrassing situation’ for Conte and the club.

Conte is expected to name an unchanged XI for the big match against AC Milan, the report continued, with Christian Eriksen set to keep his place in midfield after impressing against Lazio.

Ivan Perisic will get the nod ahead of Ashley Young on the left wing again, with Achraf Hakimi starting on the opposite flank.

Inter can go four points clear of Stefano Pioli’s side with victory in the Derby della Madonnina, at which point there would be 15 games left this season.
