Former Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo believes tomorrow’s Milanese derby against AC Milan will be a hard fought and tight match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today Paolillo stated that: “There will be a match undoubtedly on equal terms, Milan have shown they have a good team.

“A setback always happens, they had one last Sunday, I think they’ll react in a determined and positive way. They know they need to win to overtake Inter, and I’m convinced it will be a hard-fought derby.”

The former Nerazzurri executive then touched on Inter’s recent form and their 3-1 win over Lazio last weekend.

“But Inter’s form makes me think positively, I’m convinced that Milan must absolutely attack because they have to win, this can be well exploited by Inter.

“We also saw against Lazio that if the opponent allows space there is the possibility to attack.”

Antonio Conte’s side are currently top of the Serie A table after 22 games, sitting on 50 points, one ahead of Stefano Pioli’s Rossoneri.

For the first time in a decade, the current league leaders will be decided by the result of tomorrow’s Milanese derby, an exciting time for fans of both clubs.

Many have expressed their disappointment that the match tomorrow will be played behind closed doors without fans, due to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic.

The Nerazzurri have won four of their last five league clashes against the Rossoneri, although they did lose earlier this campaign 2-1.

Last month, Inter got their revenge in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, beating AC Milan 2-1, with goals from Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen.
