Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is likely to start in the Derby della Madonnina today and has fond memories of facing AC Milan in his career.
The Denmark international is expected to retain his spot in Antonio Conte’s midfield for the top of the table clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, having started the last two matches.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Eriksen enjoyed a breakout moment as teenager in a Champions League clash against Milan whilst playing for Ajax in December 2010.
With the Dutch club in turmoil domestically and struggling in Europe, coach Frank de Boer turned to the then 18-year-old and named him in his team, despite Eriksen only enjoying five Eredivisie starts at that point.
However, Eriksen went on to star as Ajax secured a 2-0 win over the Rossoneri, sealing qualification for the Europa League, and became a permanent fixture in the de Boer’s plans.
Similarly, Eriksen made an impact most recently in a Coppa Italia Quarter-Final tie last month as he netted a freekick deep into stoppage time to seal a 2-1 win for Inter in a fiery encounter.
