After keeping a clean sheet in Inter’s dominant 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina today, goalkeeper Samir Handanovic claims he has never been part of a more determined team.

The Nerazzurri thrashed their city rivals at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to open up a four point lead at the top of Serie A, with Romelu Lukaku adding to Lautaro Martinez’s brace.

Handanovic produced a series of magnificent saves at the start of the second half to keep out Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the captain focused on the determination within the camp to seal a first Scudetto since 2010.

“Without a doubt, this is the hungriest Inter side I have ever been a part of,” Handanovic declared in a post match interview with the club’s television channel, InterTV, after the final whistle.

“The Derby is always difficult to predict, but we had a week to prepare and we put all our hard work into effect on the pitch. We knew what we had to do to win the match.”

Slovenia international Handanovic joined Inter from Udinese in 2012 and has gone on to make 375 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

The 36-year-old is yet to lift silverware with Inter, although he helped the club to the Final of the Europa League last season.
