Inter’s stunning 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina came down to individual performances after a tight encounter, Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani claims.
Antonio Conte’s side sealed victory through Lautaro Martinez’s brace and a Romelu Lukaku goal to thrash their city rivals and move four points clear at the top of the Serie A table.
However, Milan weren’t without chances of their own and were denied by a number of fine saves by Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, whilst the Nerazzurri took advantage of the defensive struggles of Rossoneri centre-back Alessio Romagnoli.
Taking to Twitter, Biasin suggested that the heavy victory was paradoxical and that Milan had just as many opportunities to score as Inter did, though the Nerazzurri were more clinical.
Biasin also pointed to the individual performances of Inter strikes Martinez and Lukaku as being crucial to the victory, in comparison to Romagnoli’s display at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
“The paradox of the derby is that Milan had almost the same number of chances as Inter. The difference was made by the quality of the interpreters.
“[Hakan] Calhanoglu and [Alexis] Saelemaekers were poor, Romagnoli was disastrous. Lukaku and Lautaro were extraordinary, Handanovic decisive in the most delicate moments of the match,” Biasin tweeted.
