After sealing a comfortable 3-0 win over AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina yesterday, Inter are enjoying their third most prolific season in their history.

Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku were enough to defeat the Rossoneri and send Inter four points clear at the top, but a tweet by Opta showed they had scored the most goals after 23 league games since 1950/51.

The 57 goals so far this term have only been bettered twice in the Nerazzurri’s history.

“57 – Inter have scored 57 goals in the opening 23 seasonal games: they had more only in 1949/50 and in 1950/51. Resolute,” Opta claimed.
