Arturo Vidal needs to win back Antonio Conte’s confidence after losing his place in Inter’s midfield, according to a report in the Italian media.

Vidal has lost his place in the side to the revitalised Christian Eriksen, who is enjoying an unexpected second wind with the Nerazzurri after impressing in their wins over Lazio and AC Milan.

As per CalcioMercato.com, Vidal has rarely shown what he is capable of since joining from Barcelona last summer but he will not settle for a bit-part role under Conte.

Conte is waiting on the real Vidal to appear, the report argued, while the player is working on getting back to 100%, fitness, training at Appiano Gentile with club vice-president Javier Zanetti yesterday.

There are 15 games left in the 2020-21 season for Inter and it is now up to the 33-year-old to prove himself, especially by scoring more goals with him only having scored two so far.

Everyone at Inter is expecting more from the experienced Chilean international, who has not featured since the 2-0 win at Fiorentina on February 5 after he was forced off with a knee injury.
