Inter’s players will undergo a new round of COVID-19 tests today after the club reported five positive cases, according to an Italian media report.

As per FCInter1908.it, the Nerazzurri’s squad will be tested with greater regularity in the coming days, as per the guidelines in Serie A’s protocol, after directors Beppe Marotta, Alessandro Antonello and Piero Ausilio all contracted the virus.

Club lawyer Angelo Capellini and another unnamed member of staff were also confirmed to have tested positive on Thursday.

Inter’s players have not had direct contact with their management in the last few days, the report revealed, with no positive cases when they were last tested, as per a separate report.

The Nerazzurri placed everyone in fiduciary isolation following the news, as per standard procedure, although not all players will have to stay at the training ground, as those who live alone or do not have their families at home at the moment can go back.

Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar, Roberto Gagliardini, Ionut Radu, Ashley Young, Marcelo Brozovic, Daniele Padelli and Aleksander Kolarov all tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this season and recovered, while Achraf Hakimi gave a false positive.

Inter have not had a player test positive for the virus in several months and Antonio Conte will be praying nobody has picked it up now, with the Nerazzurri about to face three league games in nine days against Genoa, Parma and Atalanta.
