Official – Inter Directors Beppe Marotta, Alessandro Antonello & Piero Ausilio Test Positive For COVID-19

Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Alessandro Antonello have tested positive for COVID-19 along with two other club members, Inter have confirmed this morning.

With a statement on the official club website, the Nerazzurri have announced that their three directors had contracted the virus along with club lawyer Angelo Capellini and an unnamed member of the technical staff.

The Nerazzurri suffered greatly from positive COVID-19 tests in the early part of the season, with several players having to miss a number of games due to positive tests including the likes of Milan Skriniar and Marcelo Brozovic.

In their statement, Inter confirmed that all coaches and the entire team will follow the procedures set out in the health protocol.

Inter had not suffered a positive COVID-19 test for several months and now it remains to be seen whether Antonio Conte or any of his players have picked up the virus as well.

It is not the news Conte would have wanted ahead of a crucial period in the Nerazzurri’s season, with Genoa next up at San Siro on Sunday in Serie A.
