Inter’s latest round of COVID-19 tests for the first-team squad have all come back negative, according to a report in Italy today.
The Nerazzurri confirmed yesterday that five members of their staff had contracted the virus, including Beppe Marotta, Alessandro Antonello and Piero Ausilio.
Inter subjected their players to a new round of testing once their directors had tested positive but it appears there is good news for Antonio Conte ahead of Sunday’s match against Genoa in Serie A.
FcInter1908.it’s editor Daniele Mari has reported this morning there are no positive cases within the squad as things stand.
Inter were hit hard by COVID-19 infections earlier this season with the likes of Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni all testing positive in October and November.
The Nerazzurri, who currently lead Serie A, have been fortunate in a sense that once those players overcame the virus early on in the season they had no further cases, until the above mentioned people tested positive.
COVID-19 is beginning to creep back into Italy’s top flight, with Torino forced to postpone tonight’s match against Sassuolo after an outbreak in their squad.
