Inter have confirmed that youth team striker Gaetano Oristanio has tested positive for COVID-19 and will enter a period of self-isolation.

As reported on the club’s official website, the 17-year-old returned a positive test in the last round of swabs, ruling him out of the Primavera’s match against Empoli on Saturday.

It follows a breakout of the coronavirus behind the scenes as the club, with directors Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Antonio Antonello all testing positive this week.

However, none of the first team squad or staff have returned a positive test and will all be available for selection against Genoa in Serie A tomorrow, barring injuries and suspensions.

Similarly, there have been no further reported cases within the youth team set-up, with Oristanio the only player to isolate.

Oristanio has made 11 appearances for the Primavera this season, scoring twice. The teenager has spent his entire youth career with the club, helping the Nerazzurri to fifth place currently in the Primavera 1 division.
