Romelu Lukaku has won Serie A’s most valuable player award for the month of February.
The Inter forward was named as the league’s MVP for last month today, as per an announcement on the league’s website, based on statistical surveys from Stats Perform and tracking data recorded by Netco Sports between matchday 21 and 24.
The 27-year-old will receive the award before Inter’s next Serie A home game against Atalanta on Monday.
Lega Serie A’s managing director Luigi De Siervo said: “Lukaku is proving himself to be a real talisman, as well as one of the best strikers in the world.”
Lukaku received the award after he was found to have the league’s highest ‘efficiency indices’ in three games out of four, with a technical efficiency performance of 97% (peaking at 98% in the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan).
The Belgian also recorded a 99% rating in physical efficiency, reaching a speed of 25 km/h on an average of 28 times per game.
Lukaku scored highly in terms of protecting the ball too, with K-Pass giving him a rating of 96% for his passing ability.
The report also highlighted his tactical awareness and his decision-making, which helps bring Inter’s other players into the game,
Lukaku scored his 58th goal in an Inter shirt on Sunday when he broke the deadlock inside 32 seconds against Genoa.
