Arturo Vidal could be set for a move away from Inter in the summer, according to reports in Argentina.

TYCSports, as reported by FcInter1908.it, have claimed Jorge Sampaoli wants the Chilean midfielder to join him at Marseille, where he has just been appointed head coach.

Vidal’s contract with Inter doesn’t expire until 2022 but talks between the Nerazzurri and the Ligue 1 side ‘could have a positive conclusion’.

It would then be down to Marseille to convince the 33-year-old to accept a reunion with Sampaoli in France.

Vidal’s future at Inter is likely to be linked to Conte, the report continued, with the former Juventus boss having been key in bringing him back to Serie A last summer.

Sampaoli wants a side who can fight to win Ligue 1 and Vidal was said to be an ideal candidate for his midfield.

Vidal has lost his spot in Antonio Conte’s starting XI at Inter, due to injury and Christian Eriksen’s upturn in form.

The report insisted this could just be a temporary development, though, arguing that Vidal would soon regain his place in the Nerazzurri’s team.
