Georginio Wijnaldum’s wage demands have stopped negotiations over a potential switch to Inter, according to an Italian media report today.

The Liverpool and Netherlands national team midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season and has been linked with a free transfer move to the Nerazzurri, but as per CalcioMercato.com, his wage demands have put a stop to any move.

As per this report, the former Newcastle United player is seeking a salary of €10 million net a year plus a signing on bonus.

No Inter player currently earns as much as that with Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen and Alexis Sanchez the club’s highest earners with them all earning in and around €7 million net a year.

It remains unclear whether negotiations could resume in the event Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum, who has also been linked with Barcelona, reduces his demands.

This season the 30-year-old has three goals in 30 appearances across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
