Alexis Sanchez believes ‘lots of players’ at Inter have improved leaps and bounds since losing last year’s Europa League final.

The Chilean national team forward played a starring role for Inter in their 2-1 win at Parma, grabbing both goals as he was handed a rare start alongside Romelu Lukaku.

Antonio Conte’s side are now six points clear of AC Milan in the Serie A standings.

“We must not give up and continue like this,” Sanchez stressed in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the match in Emilia-Romagna on Thursday evening.

“This match was important.

“I said this to my teammates before the game, we must not give up, we are on the right track.

“Do we need to go through these matches in order to aim for the Scudetto? I think so, when we played in the Europa League final, many players changed their mindset, even the coach.

“We have grown mentally and in all aspects.”

Sanchez then expressed his gratitude to Inter coach Antonio Conte for the opportunities that he has granted him.

“I’m feeling fine, Conte has more experience than me, he sees me every day.

“I’m happy with the opportunity he’s giving me and fighting for something.”

It was then pointed out to the 32-year-old that he is the first Chilean since ex-Inter forward Ivan Zamorano to score a brace away to Parma.

“Zamorano the last Chilean to score a double in Parma? We are almost the same.”

Inter will aim to extend their lead even further over AC Milan and Juventus when they face Atalanta at San Siro on Monday.
