Inter now have their biggest lead in Serie A since their treble-winning campaign in 2010, as highlighted by a report in the Italian media.

The Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win at Parma last night took them six points clear of AC Milan in second, after two second-half goals from Alexis Sanchez.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition pointed out that the last time Inter had such a big gap was back in February 2010, the season they won their historic treble – and their last Serie A title – under Jose Mourinho.

Antonio Conte’s side were two points behind AC Milan at the halfway point of the season, but since then they have gained eight points on the Rossoneri and secured the advantage in the head-to-head tiebreaker.

This means, as the Rome-based publication wrote, that Inter can afford to lose two games between now and the end of the season and still remain top.

Inter have won 15 of their last 18 league games since drawing against Atalanta in November, who are also their next opponents on Monday.
