Alexis Sanchez has shown in recent matches that he will be key for Inter in their Serie A title chase this season, an Italian media report has argued today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Sanchez has swept away every single doubt about him with his past few performances and has turned things around a month on from Antonio Conte criticising him for his lack of goals.

In the past two games, Sanchez has scored three goals and he has taken his tally for the season to five, which is one more goal than he managed in all of last season.

The Milan-based publication argued that if his goal against Genoa could be considered a bit of a fluke, considering he scored virtually as soon as he came on off the bench, Sanchez’s double in last night’s 2-1 win over Parma was the complete opposite given that he started ahead of Lautaro Martinez.

The 32-year-old former Barcelona player has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and tallied six assists.

Inter are six points clear of their nearest chasers in Serie A, AC Milan, thanks to their victory at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
