Antonio Conte Is Ready To Stay At Inter & Is Targeting European Success, Italian Media Suggest

Inter coach Antonio Conte has no intention of leaving the club in near future and is looking to create a period of dominance, whilst also targeting success in Europe.

Former Juventus coach Conte took over at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza following the departure of Luciano Spalletti in May 2019 and has a single year remaining on the contract he penned upon his arrival.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 51-year-old is happy at Inter and is ready to see out his contract at the very least, with the possibility of remaining for longer.

Conte is thought to be aiming to create a winning cycle with the Nerazzurri similar to the one he started with Juventus in 2011-12, as he lifted the first three of nine consecutive Serie A titles for the Bianconeri.

The club, meanwhile, have also moved to back Conte by opening talks with key figures such as Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni and Stefan De Vrij over new contracts.

Another factor motivating Conte is Inter’s elimination from the Champions League at the Group Stage in December, with the coach determined to make his mark in European competition and challenge on the continental stage with the Nerazzurri.
