Ahead of their visit to Inter in Serie A on Monday evening, Atalanta will look to utilise defender Cristian Romero in a bid to stop Biscione striker Romelu Lukaku.

The two clubs face off at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with Inter hoping to continue their push towards the Scudetto and Atalanta looking to maintain their challenge for Champions League qualification.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, La Dea coach Gian Piero Gasperini will turn to Romero to keep in-form Lukaku quiet, after performing well against AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in January.

The newspaper suggested that Lukaku’s strength and guile, as well as his technique, make him an essential cog in coach Antonio Conte’s side, whilst also making him difficult to mark effectively.

Romero was not afforded the opportunity to come up against Lukaku in the previous meeting in November, with the Belgian striker a late replacement from the bench in the 1-1 draw.
