Inter coach Antonio Conte has been the unifying figure at the club as the Nerazzurri battle off the field uncertainty, Italian media claim.
The former Juventus and Chelsea tactician has led Inter to top spot in Serie A and opened up a six point gap at the summit, as the Biscione close in on a first Scudetto since 2010.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte’s presence has been the only certainty this season and the coach has taken command to lead the club, stemming from difficult period last summer.
With Inter set to face Atalanta in Serie A on Monday, the newspaper pointed to the aftermath of the final game of last season against the same opponents in July, in which Conte delivered an outburst against the hierarchy of the club.
Since then, all parties have settled their differences and Conte has been able to work closely with directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio, whilst president Steven Zhang looks to sell the club in the background.
It is suggested that Conte has held the club together amidst mounting financial concerns, using the problems behind the scenes to unite the group to mount a title charge.
