Atalanta wing-back Robin Gosens is prepared for a difficult encounter when his team travel to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to take on Inter in Serie A tomorrow.
With Inter sitting six points clear at the top of the table and on a run of six consecutive victories, La Dea face a tough ask in seeking a first away win there since 2014.
Germany international Gosens admitted that the hosts were the favourites but that Atalanta would look to play their own style and use it as preparation for a Champions League clash against Real Madrid later this month.
“It will certainly be a good match between two teams who are in the best form in the league at the moment,” Gosens claimed in an interview published in today’s newspaper edition of Eco di Bergamo.
“Inter are deservedly top of the table but we will, in any case, try to play our own game and it will be a great test ahead of our match against Real Madrid.”
Antonio Conte’s side are currently the top scorers in Serie A this season with 62 goals, of which strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have contributed 18 and 13 respectively, and Gosens warned that his team would need to be wary of the pair.
“We concede few goals and attack with numbers. Our qualities are different to those of Inter, who are lethal on the counterattack with Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez above all. Individual moments will decide this match,” Gosens concluded.
