Achraf Hakimi has developed into a vital cog in Inter coach Antonio Conte’s system this season, as the Moroccan prepares to face Atalanta.

The 22-year-old joined Inter from Spanish champions Real Madrid last summer and has made an immediate impact, scoring five goals in 24 Serie A matches.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hakimi will line-up for Inter in their league match against Atalanta tomorrow evening and come up against a stern test in opposite number Robin Gosens.

The newspaper suggests that the combined value of the two players reaches €100 million, ahead of the first meeting between the wing-backs. In the first encounter earlier in the season, a 1-1 draw in Bergamo, Hakimi was a late introduction from the bench after Gosens had already gone off with an injury.

Hakimi drew praise for improvements to his defensive game under Conte, with his attacking prowess now matched by a greater understanding at the back that was not expected of him during spells at Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Similarly, he was also credited with improving rapidly as the season has progressed, having started under the radar but becoming an essential component of the team.
