The two best attacks in Serie A will face off tonight in Inter and Atalanta and it will be like a UEFA Champions League match, according to an Italian media report today.
Inter and Atalanta have scored a combined 122 league goals between them this season and only the all-conquering Bayern Munich have managed to score more than either of these sides on their own, Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition highlighted.
The Milan-based publication stated that it was no coincidence that Inter coach Antonio Conte said whoever attacks the most will win in yesterday’s pre-match press conference.
Atalanta have had a league-high 16 different scorers this season while Inter have had the third-highest with 13 different scorers, with both of these numbers just going to highlight the danger that all players in the team pose.
It is not impossible for ‘a shower of goals’ to occur in this match, Gazzetta argued, perhaps in the second half, with Inter having scored 29 of their 62 goals within the first half hour of the second half.
