Inter coach Antonio Conte wants to lead the side to victory over Atalanta tonight as a birthday gift to the club, according to an Italian media report today.
Tuttosport highlight that Inter are due to celebrate their 113th birthday as a club tomorrow and Conte wants to help the team to a win which would give their Serie A title chase a boost.
Inter have done well versus Atalanta during Conte’s tenure in charge and when they beat them 2-0 on August 1 at the end of last season, Conte’s side showed that they can raise their game to unattainable levels.
Romelu Lukaku and his teammates wish to repeat this tonight at San Siro, the report explained, without getting distracted by the ongoing corporate issues at the club.
When the two sides met earlier on this season, they drew 1-1 and if Inter manage to win tonight, they can return to being six points clear at the top of the Serie A table.
Arturo Vidal is reportedly in line to replace Christian Eriksen in Conte’s starting XI.
