Nerazzurri Primavera coach Armando Madonna has praised how Bulgarian youngster Nikola Iliev has developed since arriving at the club as well as his performance in their latest win.

Speaking in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInter1908 after the 3-1 win over Lazio yesterday afternoon, Madonna detailed Iliev’s growth, his physique, as well as how committed the youngster is to training, having not missed a minute of training.

“First of all he is born in 2004, and this says a lot. He has grown a lot, he has quality that is indisputable. He needed to grow in terms of training and in terms of physique.

“He hasn’t missed a minute of training since I started coaching him and this has become very important for me.”

Madonna then continued to speak about the Bulgarian attacking midfielder’s performance in the win against the Biancocelesti, praising him for how he played as well as how he sacrificed himself for the team.

“Today he he found himself ready to deliver in a complicated match, I really enjoyed how he made himself available to the others.

“He has great attributes, we have seen this these last few months.”

Madonna then continued by discussing the performance of young Italian midfielder Mattia Mirarchi, arguing that the player can still improve.

“He scored a goal and made some important plays but then he went missing for a bit. He is important because he provides us with moments of brilliance but he can improve on how he moves the ball.”

The Nerazzurrini are in second spot in the standings on 25 points, only two points behind league leaders Roma on 27 points after 13 matches.
