Inter face competition from AC Milan for Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso, according to a report from a leading Italian broadcaster.
As per Sport Mediaset last night, the Rossoneri are in talks with current number one Gianluigi Donnarumma over a contract renewal, but the Italian is by no means guaranteed to sign a new deal.
AC Milan have therefore identified Musso as their plan B option should Donnarumma not agree fresh terms, meaning a transfer derby could be on the horizon.
Musso has long been on the radar of Inter who are looking for a long-term replacement for their ageing goalkeeper and current club captain Samir Handanovic, who has been with the club for almost a decade now.
The report explained that Inter were thinking of signing Musso and having him spend a year as back-up to Handanovic before taking over from the Slovenian, who has been a loyal servant to the club.
SM reported that while there was frequent contact between AC Milan and Musso’s representatives, AC Milan had not had any contact with Udinese themselves.
