Antonio Cassano has slammed Inter’s performance against Atalanta last night, calling the Nerazzurri’s victory ‘undeserved’.

Inter ran out 1-0 winners over Gian Piero Gasperini’s side at San Siro, re-establishing their six-point lead at the top of Serie A.

Milan Skriniar fired in the decisive goal shortly after half-time with what proved to be Inter’s only shot on target.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel last night, Bobo TV, Cassano said: “Atalanta deserved to win, Inter never had a shot on goal.

“They can’t play like this every time, getting behind the ball and letting their opponents control play.

“It is easy to take the game to the likes of Parma and Bologna, but when the level increases they struggle.

“Inter remained in their own half, always defending, despite the enormous difference in quality.”

Cassano, who played for Inter in the 2012-13 season, remained optimistic about the Nerazzurri’s hopes of winning the Scudetto.

He did however admit that he would have hated to put in the kind of shift Lautaro Martinez had to do last night.

“Inter are at the top of the standings with merit for what they have done in the last two months and will win the Scudetto,” Cassano argued.

“But I do not accept that they play with 10 men behind the line of the ball.

“If I had been in Lautaro’s shoes, after 10 minutes I would have asked to be subbed off.”

Inter have now won their last seven Serie A games on the bounce.

Thanks to the win over Atalanta, Conte’s side are edging closer to a first league title since 2009-10.
