Christian Eriksen should always start for Inter no matter who they are playing, according to the Nerazzurri’s former defender Daniele Adani.
Antonio Conte preferred Arturo Vidal to the Dane in midfield for last night’s match against Atalanta and Inter did not benefit from the switch.
Eriksen came on shortly after half-time and was far more productive than Vidal, helping the Nerazzurri bring home a crucial 1-0 win at San Siro.
Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel last night, Bobo TV, Adani said: “Eriksen is one of the three players who must always start for Inter.”
Adani did not specify who the other two players were but he did offer his analysis of the game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, which didn’t turn out to be as open and spectacular as some had expected.
“Inter’s performance was similar to their performances at the end of 2020, when they had less tempo and quality in their game,” he argued.
“I don’t know how conscious this decision was from them because Atalanta dictated the tempo, while Inter benefited from the key moments in the game.
“Atalanta had chances from two corners, with one saved and one cleared off the line, while Inter had one chance from a corner and scored.”
Inter have re-established their six-point gap over AC Milan at the top of the table, with Torino next up for the Nerazzurri on Sunday.
Conte will not be on the touchline at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino after he was handed a one-match ban by Serie A’s sports judge.
