Esteban Cambiasso admits he is honoured to enter Inter’s Hall of Fame and has picked his favourite goal scored for the club.
Cuchu was one of four Inter legends who were officially inducted tonight, in a special ceremony put on to celebrate Inter’s 113th birthday.
Last summer, Inter supporters took part in a voting process which ultimately selected Cambiasso, Diego Milito, Julio Cesar and Beppe Bergomi as the next players to enter the Hall of Fame.
Speaking to Inter TV tonight, Cambiasso said: “It’s certainly giving me loads of emotions to be in the Hall of Fame.
“I’ve contributed to a lot of these famous videos we’re watching in first person and it’s a pleasure to relive these moments.
“The Inter fans have chosen me among many great champions, it’s an honour.
“A favourite moment from my time at Inter? I’d say probably my goal against Chelsea in the 2010 UEFA Champions League.
“Especially for the moment in which I scored it, when we were starting to see the ghosts of previous eliminations from the past seasons.
“Scoring that goal was a great liberation, I did well to create the space for myself.
“That goal was an example of my mentality to never give up.”
Cambiasso joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2004 and went on to make 431 appearances in all competitions.
He scored 51 goals for the Nerazzurri and won five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia titles, four Supercoppa Italian titles and one UEFA Champions League title during his time at the club.
Cambiasso, who left Inter for Leicester City in 2014, also helped Inter win the FIFA Club World Cup under Rafa Benitez in 2010.
