Inter central midfielder Christian Eriksen is similar to legendary Inter midfielder Youri Djokaeff according to former Inter player Fabio Galante, who played alongside Djorkaeff at Inter.

In recent weeks Eriksen has really turned things around for himself at the club after a difficult first year in Milan, performing well again as a substitute against Atalanta last night.

Galante claims that having see him in training, the Dane reminded him of his former teammate, who is celebrating his 53rd birthday today on the same day Inter celebrate their 113th anniversary.

“Eriksen is good, I saw him live at Appiano Gentile and he reminded me a little of Djorkaeff with the way he touches the ball,” Galante remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Nerazzurra, earlier on today.

Galante, who played for Inter between 1996 and 1999, then went on to share his belief that Eriksen has now proven his worth as a player.

“Eriksen just needed the right moment.

“Thanks to him and to the coach who was right in the end apart from a few episodes.

“I’m happy above all for the player who has proved his worth.”

In conclusion Galante touched upon the quality of players that Inter are able to call-upon off the bench when needed.

“When you make changes and can bring on Eriksen, Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez or Danilo D’Ambrosio, they are changes that make a difference.”

This season Eriksen, who joined Inter in January 2020 from Tottenham Hotspur, has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.
