Inter centre back Milan Skriniar is back to his best for the Nerazzurri club, one Italian media report has argued today.
Skriniar fired Inter to victory over Atalanta last night with a goal in the second half and in the eyes of Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the Slovakian international is back to being a leader after previously experiencing difficulty while adjusting to Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.
The 26-year-old kept Duvan Zapata very quiet during last night’s match at San Siro and also made a contribution in the attack, as he scored his third goal of the season to take Inter six points clear in Serie A.
The report goes on to add that after a hesitant start to the season Inter have made big improvements, with the Milan-based publication comparing Antonio Conte’s Inter to a concrete monolith.
Inter have reduced risks to a minimum, they argued, and they punish their opponents at the other end with a clinical edge.
Gazzetta dello Sport concluded that Skriniar was a pillar in this Inter team, arguing his performance versus Atalanta was a reminder that not selling him to Tottenham Hotspur was a good idea.
