Inter defeated Atalanta by 1-0 in the Serie A Match Day 26 clash between the two sides at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan’s San Siro district.
The Nerazzurri struggled against a very aggressive and tactically well structured Atalanta side who took command of the game from the start.
Inter tried to work themselves back into the game but struggled in the buildup phase thanks to Atalanta’s excellent press. The few times the Nerazzurri were able to play themselves into positions Atalanta defender Djimsiti thwarted their efforts.
In the second half, Inter started the same way they left off until Christian Eriksen replaced Arturo Vidal and the Nerazzurri began being able to find space behind Atalanta’s wing-backs.
Because only a minute later Inter were able to win a corner from which Alessandro Bastoni managed to toe-poke a pass to Milan Skriniar who made no mistake when breaking the deadlock.
Atalanta started to press more which prompted Inter to attack on the counter with either side failing to score allowing Antonio Conte’s men to secure their 7th consecutive Serie A match to once more go 6 points clear of AC Milan in the top of the league table.
