Samir Handanovic still has a strong chance of remaining Inter’s number one goalkeeper next season, according to an Italian media report.

As per CalcioMercato.com, given the Nerazzurri’s difficult economic situation, the club could forego changing the goalkeeping guard at the end of this season and the changing of the guard could be postponed until the summer of 2022.

Current number one Handanovic came in for a lot of criticism earlier on in the season but has performed much better as of late, but one thing that is undeniable is the fact that he is getting older and Inter cannot rely on him forever.

Handanovic is out of contract at the end of next season and Inter have been linked with a host of possible replacements from Udinese’s Juan Musso as well as Atalanta’s Pierluigi Gollini among others.

Inter are however not alone in being interested in Musso and Gollini with the report explaining that Roma are both also keen on the Argentine and Italian.
