Inter have picked up more points than all their Serie A title rivals in this season’s head-to-head matches, an Italian media report has pointed out today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition highlighted that the Nerazzurri have picked up 18 points from a possible 27 against Juventus, AC Milan, Atalanta, Napoli, Lazio and Roma so far this season, winning their last four in a row.

Antonio Conte’s side have scored nine goals and conceded just one goal in their victories over Juventus, Lazio, AC Milan and Atalanta – a far cry from their struggles in big games last season when Juventus comfortably beat them twice, for instance.

Inter are now clearly a mature team, the report said, with these results acting as certification of their true value.

Conte’s side were also said to be deservedly sitting at the top of the table, due to having the best attack and the second-best defence in the league.

Inter have shown great defensive solidity and have three head-to-head fixtures remaining between now and the end of this season.

They will firstly face Napoli in mid-April before they play Roma and Juventus in their third-last and penultimate matches of the season.

And as the Rome-based publication pointed out, there’s no guarantee Inter won’t have won the league already by the time they reach those matches.
