Barcelona have made rumoured Inter target Georginio Wijnaldum a transfer priority for this summer, according to a Spanish media report.

As per TodoFichajes.com, Blaugrana head coach Ronald Koeman has already had the chance to speak with new club president Joan Laporta over possible transfer targets, and Wijnaldum is regarded as one.

The 30-year-old’s contract with Liverpool is due to expire at the end of this season and Koeman, who worked with him when in charge of the Netherlands national team, has been in touch several times to try and convince him to join him in Catalonia.

Wijnaldum has also been strongly linked with a potential free transfer move to Inter in the summer but this report goes on to add that the midfielder does not plan on making a decision on his future until the end of the season.

This season he has made 39 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool, in which he has scored three goals.

A report in the Italian media today revealed Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio had been working on a deal to sign Wijnaldum for months, only to be scuppered – almost certainly, at least – by the Nerazzurri’s current financial problems.
