Alessandro Bastoni has unveiled his all-time Inter XI in an interview with the club today.

The 21-year-old has impressed everyone with his performances at centre-back this season and is reportedly in line for a new contract before the end of the season.

Bastoni took part in ‘My Inter top 11’ for the Nerazzurri’s official YouTube channel and began by picking his favourite past Inter goalkeeper.

“I would go with Walter Zenga,” he said.

“Then I would play a four-man back-line with Javier Zanetti, Beppe Bergomi, Marco Materazzi and Giacinto Facchetti, as each of them embodied Inter and belonged to the club.

“I would have a three-man midfield consisting of Dejan Stankovic, Patrick Vieira and Nicola Berti.

“Berti has the determination and the heart to play in this team, he reminds me of Nicolo Barella.

“I would have Deki in there for his passion and Vieira for his physicality, he was one of the best midfielders of in history.

“Up front, I would go with a front three of Diego Milito, Ronaldo and Christian Vieri.

“There has been no one like Ronaldo, while I would have Vieri in because he gave so much to the club.

“Then Milito is there for the unforgettable emotions he left us with during the treble-winning season.”

Bastoni, who joined Inter back in 2017 from Atalanta, went on to reveal which characteristics he would take from one of the players he has named in his ultimate Inter XI.

“Obviously I would like to have a characteristic from each of them,” he admitted.

“Thinking about what I’m lacking the most, I would like Materazzi’s grit, malice and determination.”

Bastoni is into second season at Inter as a regular starter and under the tutelage of Inter coach Antonio Conte, he has improved greatly and earned himself a place in the senior Italian national team.

The Italy defender, who is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022-23 season, has been virtually ever present this season, having made 31 appearances across all competitions and providing four assists.
