Antonio Conte has done a miraculous job in charge of Inter, at least according to his former Juventus teammate Nicola Amoruso.
Conte is little over a year and a half into his tenure as the Nerazzurri’s head coach and has his side fighting for the Serie A title once again this season, having come close to ending Juventus’ dominance last year.
He has helped Inter take the next step after Luciano Spalletti got them into the Champions League in back-to-back seasons, with Conte’s side currently six points clear at the top of the table.
“Conte has completely transformed Inter’s mentality in two years,” Amoruso, who enjoyed a long career in Serie A, argued in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia last night.
“He is heavily criticised and I find it strange, because he has worked a miracle.
“Inter have an identity, they have clear ideas and are mentally strong.
“It is unlikely that they will let their opponents get back into this title race now.”
Conte, who is under contract with Inter until the end of next season, has coached the team in 89 games across all competitions and Inter have won 54 of these games.
He will be suspended for Sunday’s next match away at Torino, however, having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during Monday’s win at home to Atalanta.
