Inter have an agreement in principle with Lautaro Martinez’s agents over a new contract, according to an Italian media report today.
As per CalcioMercato.com, there is a agreement in place for an extension until 2024 which will see the striker’s salary jump from €3 million to €4.5 million a year.
Inter would like to modify the €111 million release clause in Lautaro’s current contract or even remove it, but the parties are still working on what could be a key part of the new deal.
Inter wish to ensure that if the clause remains in place, it remains valid only for clubs outside of Italy, therefore ruling out the possibility of Juventus signing him.
In short, Lautaro’s future is destined to be with Inter and it is only a matter of time until the 23-year-old has a new contract with the club.
The report said this was also the case for Inter central defender Alessandro Bastoni, with the only thing needed for his contract renewal being the go-ahead from club owners Suning.
